Week 11 // Day 3

As Moses is now unfaithful in God’s commands by hitting the rock for water, the leadership over Israel is passed to Aaron (Num 27). As a new generation of Israel is collected and numbered, the tribes begin to settle into the promised land ( Num 34). Moses begins in Deuteronomy with a set of speeches to remind Israel of the sins of the previous generation and a call to be more faithful than their ancestors. Thus, the Israelites had a daily prayer, the Shema, from Deuteronomy 6:4-5.
