Michael grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ when he was 10 years old. After graduating from Alexander Central High School he married Lynn. After the birth of their first son, he and Lynn began their journey in children’s ministry by serving in the nursery. Michael later served as the Alexander Baptist Association RA Director and led training throughout the state with the North Carolina Baptist Men. In 1998, Michael surrendered to the call to ministry and the family moved to New Orleans where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education at the Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Michael has served churches in Louisiana, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

He is married to Lynn. They have two sons, Aaron and Matt. Aaron is married to Julianne and they have a son, Beau, and a daughter Kelsey. Matt is married to Shannon, and they have a son, Abel.
Michael enjoys spending time with his family and working outdoors on their small farm.
